Daniel Lança Perdigão
What is your background?
I have worked for more than 30 years helping people solving complex business problems, most of the time on a creative way, through consulting and as an IT analyst. Throughout my professional life I have always used visual tools to help me communicate with others. I have studied business administration, and innovation and entrepreneurship at Universidad Católica. For several years my professional life is based on doing visual creative training and consulting for new businesses, people development and processes improvement.
Why does Mind Mapping inspire you?
I established contact with Mind Maps when, at the London Airport, back in the 90’s, I bought my first book from Tony and Barry Buzan. After reading I found that Mind Maps were what I have always been looking for, as they allow me to easily structure my mind and thoughts, be creative on my own and supporting brainstorm with others, as well as getting a clearer view of all the data and information I need to deal with on my business and professional life. I also saw its huge potential as a coaching tool that I continuously use.
How do you feel the course benefited you?
Although I already worked for many years with Mind Maps, the TLI training helped me as I get in touch with many different approaches, both from the trainers as well as from other colleagues.
The same happened with iMindMap, as I prefer hand drawn Mind Maps for memory purposes, I recognize the advantages of the use of iMindMap to share and work with others, especially when in remote locations, not to mention that the tool is so cool.
How do you plan to use your accreditation?
I plan to continue spreading the advantages of using Mind Maps and iMindMap. I do training in Portuguese and English, mainly in Europe but occasionally also elsewhere.
The accreditation is also useful to show newcomers that this is not something that I am making up, but a useful tool that has many followers and that being trained and certified is important.
I also run some Mind Mapping workshops in local schools where the certification is important.
